Advocates for Foster Care/Adoption

The Advocate Clinic provides church advocates with detailed training on how to build, maintain, and refine a strong foster care and adoption ministry at their church.  Church Advocate within a church is the key to foster care ministries coming alive in local communities.  Starfish Ministry has partnered with  Live The Promise to equip and empower church advocates to spark action in response to the pressing needs of foster care and adoption in our communities.

All Advocates are trained through a one day training clinic. After the clinic Advocates will be better equipped to build and maintain a sustainable foster and adoption ministry that attracts volunteers, builds communities of support for foster/adoptive families, and provides a voice for foster children in their community. 

Clinic Process:

Our Advocate training process is built upon these basics:

Envisioning, Establishing and Equipping you foster care/adoption ministry to thrive in your church is facilitated through the training presented at the clinic.  Training topics include the following:

• Roles your church can fulfill
• Creating Awareness
• Forming and launching care communities
• Working with public and private agencies

Empowering your foster care/adoption ministry happens through utilizing an online Advocate Portal as well as a variety of online trouble-shooting tutorials.  After the graduating from the clinic you will receive unlimited access to the Advocate Portal.  This will ensure you have the most up-to-date materials and training available to grow your ministry.  We also offer subsequent coaching in the months following the Clinic.

TIME: 8:30 AM – 4 PM (please arrive early to check-in)

MEAL: Lunch will be provided

LOCATION: Hillside Community Church – 5354 Haven Ave, Rancho Cucamonga, CA

GROUP (2 or more): $104 total

INDIVIDUAL: $100 (Early bird – before Sept. 19)  |  $130 (after Sept. 19)
